The prayer in the Writ Petition reads as follows:- “To issue a Writ of Mandamus, to to direct the Respondents to provide new electricity connection to the Petitioner house situated at No.140/10, North Street, Kottapalayam East, Thuraiyur Taluk, Trichirapalli District.” 3. Considering the fact that an electricity connection is a basic necessity, the application made by a citizen of India should not be denied by the respondents. 5. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to provide electricity connection to the petitioner, within a period four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With the above said direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
