Heard Mr. H.A. Ahmed, learned counsel for the applicant. Also heard Mr. J. Payeng, learned Standing counsel, NRC and FT matters; Mr. H.K. Hazarika, learned Junior Government Advocate; Ms. P. Barua, learned Standing counsel, ECI; and Mr. H. Gupta, learned CGC.
2. By filing this interlocutory application, the applicant who is the petitioner in WP(C)/2166/2025, has prayed for amendment in the cause title in the writ petition in so far as respondent Nos. 5 and 6 are concerned as well as the address of the petitioner.
3. Referring the statements made in this interlocutory application, the
learned counsel for the applicant has submitted that having obtained bail by
order of the Court dated 25.04.2025 passed in the connected writ petition, where the applicant appeared before the Superintendent of Police (B), Barpeta but she was informed that the records have been transferred to the
Page No.# 4/4 jurisdictional Superintendent of Police (B), Baksa as the residence of the applicant falls within the said district.
4. Heard the learned Standing counsel for the FT matters.
5. Considering the submission made, the prayer made in this interlocutory application for amendment stands allowed.
6. The applicant is permitted to amend the cause title in respect of the address of the applicant as well as to amend the cause title in respect of respondent Nos. 5 and 6 by substituting the said authorities of district Barpeta to district Baksa.
7. This application stands disposed of.
