Petitioners, primarily being aggrieved of order dated 07.12.2023, passed by Assistant Collector 1st Class (Tehsildar) Anantnag, has approached this Court on various grounds urged in the memo of petition. Perusal of the record reveals that petitioners have assailed this order before Additional Deputy Commissioner (Commissioner Agrarian Reforms), Anantnag [“the Appellate court”], on the same set of grounds. Pertinently, the appeal came to be preferred by the appellants in April 2025, along with an application for condonation of delay, which has not been decided till date. In view of the above, present petition is disposed of, with a direction to the Appellate court to decide the application, preferred by the petitioners for condonation of delay, after affording a reasonable opportunity of being heard to both the sides, within a period of one week from the date a copy of this order is made available. Till then, parties are directed to maintain status quo as on date. Disposed of. In the event of condonation of delay, the Appellate court shall make an endeavor to decide the appeal with expedition, preferably within a period of two months thereafter.
