Vivekananda CORAM : THE CHIEF JUSTICE DHIRAJ SINGH THAKUR SRI JUSTICE RAVI CHEEMALAPATI DATE : 22nd April 2025 Per DHIRAJ SINGH THAKUR, CJ: The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, who seeks an enquiry by the District Collector in terms of the provisions of Section 5 of the Andhra Pradesh (Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes) Regulation of Issue of Community Certificates Act, 1993, for purposes of cancellation of the Scheduled Caste certificate, which, the petitioner alleges, was fraudulently obtained by the 4th respondent and based thereupon had got a job as Junior Civil Judge in the recruitment process held in the year 2007. 2 HCJ & RC, J W.P. No: 7433 of 2025 Learned counsel appearing for the High Court states that the Registrar (Vigilance) of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh had, vide communication, dated 05.08.2024, addressed to the Collector and District Magistrate of Nandyal District requesting to enquire into the genuineness of the caste certificate submitted by the 4th respondent - Sri Sigisetty Praveen Kumar pursuant to which a communication has now been received, dated 20.08.2024, that the caste certificate issued in favour of respondent No.4 was a genuine one. Be that as it may, it shall be open to the concerned District Collector to pass appropriate orders on the representation filed by the petitioner in accordance with law.
