This Court vide order dated 3.12.2024 issued card notice to the petitioners to engage another counsel due to the death of Shri D.S. Randawa, who was earlier appearing for the petitioners. Office report dated 22.1.2025 provides that in compliance of the court's order, card notices were issued to the petitioner Nos. 1 to 75, but neither unserved notices has been received nor any vakalatnama has been filed on behalf of the petitioners. When the case was called out no body appeared on behalf of the petitioners to press the writ petition. Shri Vijay Prakash, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the State-respondents is present. The service of card notice in light of the office report dated 22.1.2025 upon the petitioners is deemed sufficient as per the Rules of the Court. The matter is an old one pertaining to the year 1993. Taking into consideration the fact that the service of notice upon the petitioners is sufficient and no one is present to press the writ petition, the same deserves to be dismissed for want of prosecution. The writ petition is accordingly dismissed for non prosecution.
