This Court vide order dated 3.12.2024 issued notice to the petitioner to engage another counsel due to the death of Shri H.O. Singh, who was appearing for the petitioner. The office report dated 22.1.2025 shows that the card notice was issued to the petitioner on 3.12.2024, but neither the same was returned unserved nor Vakalatnama has been filed on behalf of the petitioner till date. Service of notice upon the petitioner is deemed sufficient as per the Rules of the Court. The matter is an old one pertaining to the year 1993. When the case has been called out no one is present to press the writ petition, while Shri Ashish Sinha, learned Standing Counsel is present for the State-respondents. The writ petition is accordingly dismissed for non prosecution.
