Petitioner was engaged as daily wage worker in Seed Range, Kalsi District Dehradun in the month of December, 2022; however, his engagement has been discontinued in the month of July, 2025. Thus feeling aggrieved by his disengagement, petitioner has approached this Court. 3. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that petitioner’s disengagement is without any reason or justification whatsoever, as the work and post is available and the work is of perennial nature. She further submits that the authorities are proposing to engage fresh hand which is unjust. 4. Learned State Counsel was given time to get instructions. On instruction, he submits that petitioner was engaged in January, 2023 as extra hand and at present since there is no requirement of any extra hand, therefore, petitioner’s engagement was not continued any 2025:UHC:8940 further after July, 2025. 5. He however submits that if extra work is available in the Seed Centre, then petitioner’s case for re-engagement shall be considered, as per law. 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of by providing that in case any extra hand is needed in the Seed Centre, then petitioner shall be given preference. The dues, if any pending, shall be cleared within four weeks from date of production of certified copy of this order.
