GUNESHWAR SHARMA ORDER 30.04.2025 [1] Heard Mr. Y. Nirmolchand, learned sr. counsel assisted by Mr. Y. Nikhil, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. S. Niranjan, learned GA for the State respondents. [2] By the present writ petition, the petitioner, who is Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited approached this Court for directing the State respondents to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for investigating the fraud or suspected fraud cases in the State of Manipur with respect to the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) and other compensation matters. [3] It is stated that there are many fraudulent claim cases filed before the MACT. In this regard, the petitioner has already submitted representations dated 21.08.2023 & 05.04.2024 to the Director General of Police (D.G.P.), Manipur (respondent no. 2) for constitution of SIT for suspected fraudulent claim cases in MACT and other related matters. In the representations, details of the suspected fraudulent claim cases were also mentioned. [4] It is stated that the D.G.P., Manipur has not taken up any steps to the representations submitted by the petitioner. [6] The learned sr. counsel for the petitioner submits that the present writ petition may be disposed of at this stage by directing the D.G.P., Manipur to consider the representations dated 21.08.2023 and 05.04.2024 by passing a speaking order within a period of 2(two) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. [7] The learned GA for the State respondents has no objection in disposing the present case. [8] Recording the submissions made at the bar, the present writ petition is disposed of by directing the D.G.P, Manipur to consider the representations dated 21.08.2023 and 05.04.2024 submitted by the petitioner and may pass an speaking order within a period of 2(two) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. [9] This Court does not express any opinion on the merit of this case. [10] With these observations, the present W.P. (C) No. 358 of 2025 is disposed of. JUDGE Thoiba
