Aggrieved by the order dated 04.01.2025 passed by the District Magistrate, Varanasi under Section 5 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, the petitioners have preferred this writ petition. 2. A preliminary objection has been raised by Sri Ashish Kumar, learned counsel who has put in appearance on behalf of respondent no.4 that the petitioners have an effective alternative remedy of filing an appeal under Section 16 of the aforesaid Act, 2007, and in view thereof the present petition would not be entertainable. 3. In view of above, this writ petition stands disposed of leaving it open to the petitioners to take recourse to the appropriate statutory legal remedy as may be available to them under law.
