By way of instant petition, petitioner has prayed for following substantive relief(s):- (i) That the applicant be considered for regularization as Chokidar w.e.f. the date when he has completed 8 years of service. 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? (ii) That the arrears w.e.f. completion of 8 years with interest may also be granted in favour of the applicant. (iii) That the seniority and consequential benefits may also be granted in favour of the applicant w.e.f. after completion of 8 years with 240 days in one calendar year. 3. At the time of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that he is under instructions to pray for conversion of relief of regularization after eight years of continuous service to relief of grant of work charge status on completion of eight years. 4. He further submits that the issue with respect to grant of work charge status on completion of eight years continuous service has been set at rest by the judgment passed by Hon’ble Supreme Court on 06.02.2025 in Civil Appeal No. 1595 of 2025, titled as State of H.P. and Ors. Vs. Surajmani and Ors. 5. The factual position is not disputed by learned counsel for respondent/University. 6. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondent/University to grant the benefit of aforesaid judgment in Surajmani’s case (supra) to the petitioner alongwith consequential benefits flowing therefrom within a period of twelve weeks from the date of passing of this order. 7.
