This writ petition has been filed with the prayer to injunct the State Authorities from interfering in petitioners' peaceful possession over Arazi Nos.554 and 548. Learned Standing Counsel has obtained instructions, according to which none of the State Authorities are taking sides in the matter and that civil dispute between the parties is otherwise pending. Since the dispute in respect of immovable property exists between the petitioners and the private respondents, such issues of possession and title can only be gone into by the competent civil court. The interference by the State Authorities will be limited to preservation of peace on the spot. The authorities are not expected to take sides in respect of immovable property. Leaving it open for the petitioners to pursue civil proceedings before the competent forum, this writ petition is consigned to records.
