By this petition, petitioners herein are seeking a direction upon the respondents to compensate them by paying an amount of Rs.2.00 lacs each on account of the loss suffered by their vehicles due to inundation of unprecedented floods, in the year 2014. Petitioner No.1 is the owner of vehicle bearing no.JK02AW-5062, petitioner No.2 is the owner of the vehicle bearing No.JK02AN-6369 and petitioner No.3 is the owner of the vehicle bearing No.JK06-4201. In the month of September, 2014, due to floods, petitioners’ vehicles got trapped in it and were damaged. Petitioners made many representations before the respondents for redressal of their grievance, but no heed has been paid to their representations till date, which has constrained them to approach this Court, seeking compensation for the vehicles which got damaged in the year 2014, due to floods.
02. Per contra, reply stands filed on behalf of respondent No.1, wherein it is stated that claim projected by the petitioners seeking compensation for Sr. No. 09

their vehicles damaged due to flood in September, 2014 does not fall within the ambit of SDRF Norms/ Guidelines.
03. Reply has also been filed by respondent Nos.2 & 3, wherein it is stated that petitioners have not specified any scheme under which the petitioners are claiming the relief for compensation. Moreover, no documentary evidence has been placed on record regarding the relief which has been provided to similarly situated persons.

Learned counsel for the petitioners states that the petitioners would feel satisfied, if a liberty is granted to them to approach the respondents by filing a fresh representation for redressal of their grievance.
05. Learned counsels for the respondents are not averse to the proposition being made by learned counsel for the petitioners.

In view of the above, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioners to file fresh representation before respondent Nos.1 and 3, seeking compensation for the vehicles which got damaged due to floods in September, 2014, within a period of two weeks from the date of passing of this order.

Learned counsel for respondent Nos.1 and 3 are directed to consider the representation of the petitioners, strictly in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of its receipt and to pass a speaking
order thereof.

Disposed of along with connected CM(s).
