Sarma, learned Legal Aid Counsel for the applicant. Also heard Mr. J. Chutiya, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State of Assam. 2. This is an application filed under Section 430 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 praying for suspension of sentence and for allowing the applicant to go on bail. 3. The applicant Edu Sheikh @ Methar was convicted under Section 448/354 of the Indian Penal Code. He was sentenced undergo rigorous imprisonment for 2(two) years for the offence under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment of 6(six) months for the offence under Section 448 of the Indian Penal Code. 4. I have considered the submissions made by learned counsel for both the sides. 5. It is hereby directed that the sentence imposed upon the applicant by the learned Sessions Judge, Goalpara in Sessions Case No.154/2019 shall remain stayed till disposal for the appeal. 6. The applicant Edu Sheikh @ Methar shall be released on bail of Rs.20,000/- with Page No.# 3/3 a surety of like amount with the satisfaction of the learned Sessions Judge, Goalpara. 7.
