The case against the applicant is that he was serving in the police department and was entrusted with handling dues and bank transactions on behalf of the police station. It is alleged that the applicant issued to Mr. Pagare a cheque of Rs.4,819/- dated 30/04/2021. The applicant subsequently interpolated the photocopy of the cheque by adding "30" before the amount, thereby making it appear as Rs.3,04,819/- maintained by him. However, Mr. Pagare had actually withdrawn only Rs.4,819/-. It is further alleged that cash of Rs.3 lakhs was later withdrawn from the same account by the applicnat, leading to registration of the present case against the applicant. 2. The learned APP has also produced records of similar instances involving one Ismail and another individual named Sunil, wherein the applicant is alleged to have interpolated and altered the amount on photocopies of cheques maintained by him and subsequently withdrawn the additional amount by cash from the account. The case is not limited to the facts of the present FIR alone. Prima facie involvement of the applicant is seen. No case is made out for grant of anticipatory bail. 4.
