Status report filed by way of an affidavit of Jasjyot Singh, PPS, DSP, Jagraon, District Ludhiana (Rural), is taken on record. Copy thereof has been supplied to the counsel opposite. Para 7 of the status report reads as under:- “That on the basis of this decision of the Punjab Govt., the DDPO, Ludhiana has written letter no. 3206 dated 16-03-2023 to the SSP Ludhiana (Rural) and recommended to cancel FIR against the accused Paramjit Kaur and petitioner Joginder Pal Singh. On the MEENU 2025.05.09 17:15 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRM-M-64229-2024 -2- basis of this letter, Investigating Officer, SHO PS Sadar Jagraon has cancelled this FIR and cancellation report No. 217/VRK dated 17- 08-2023 was prepared by the SSP Ludhiana (Rural) addressed to the Ld. Illaqa Magistrate. This cancellation report was submitted before the Ld. Court of Illaqa Magistrate, Jagraon on 21.04.2025 and thus the Ld. Court of Illaqa Magistrate, Jagraon returned the file with the direction for re-investigation vide its order dated 21.04.2025.” In the light of above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that she does not want to press the instant petition any further.
