Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned standing counsel for State-respondents. 2. Learned counsel for petitioner prays for and is permitted to correct the description of respondent no. 4 during the course of the day. 3. Present petition has been filed seeking following relief:- "i). Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing District Magistrate/Collector, Kanpur Dehat to consider the appointment of the petitioner by directing appointing authority/concerned Sub Divisional Magistrate to get the petitioner appointed as Lekhpal, in the interest of justice." 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that earlier petitioner has filed representation dated 18.10.2024 before respondent No. 6 for issuance of appointment letter, upon which respondent no. 4 has written letter dated 24.10.2024 to respondent no. 6 to take final decision, but till date no decision has been taken. Lastly, it is submitted that a direction may be issued to respondent- authorities take decision within a stipulated time, for which learned standing counsel has no objection. 5. In view of the facts and circumstances of the case, the writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No. 6 to take decision upon the letter dated 24.10.2024 written by respondent no. 4, in accordance with law, maximum within period of six weeks from the date of submission of certified copy of this order. 6. It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the case on merits. It is upon respondent concerned to pass order after considering the relevant Rules as well as facts of the case.
