By this petition, petitioners herein are seeking a direction upon the respondents to amend and update their record as per the order/status of the Provincial Rehabilitation Office in respect of shops bearing Sr.No. 07 2 WP(C) No.3164/2025 WP(C) No.3164/2025 Shop/Stall No. 02, 04, 08, 13, 14, 24 and 27 situated at Prade, Jammu, with a further direction upon respondents to give rent receipts on the name of the owner as per present status of the shops. It is stated that the petitioners are owner in possession of shop/stall No. 02, 04, 08, 13, 14, 24 and 27 situated at Prade, Jammu. 02. The stalls were originally allotted to the displaced persons of 1947 of POJK by the office of the then Custodian in order to rehabilitate them. The stalls were constructed by Jammu Municipal Corporation and were provided to the petitioners on monthly rent of Rs. 2 per stall. The Government thereafter announced one time settlement package under PMDP for settlement of such displaced persons and after the payment of Rs. 1200/-, the allottees were given ownership rights over the said shops/stalls but the land continued to be governed under Municipal Laws. 03. The petitioners, thereafter have purchased these shops/stalls from the original allottees with the permission of the Provincial Rehabilitation Officer, Jammu, as such, their names had to be entered in the record, but till date needful has not been done. It is further stated that time and again they had made representations before the respondents, but no heed has been paid. 04. Learned counsel for the petitioners states that petitioners would be satisfied, if the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners, for redressal of their grievances within a reasonable period of time. 3 WP(C) No.3164/2025 WP(C) No.3164/2025 05. Learned counsel for the respondents is not averse to the proposition being made by the learned counsel for the petitioners. 06. Be that as it may, instant petition is disposed of, at its threshold, with a direction to the respondents to consider the representations dated 16.12.2024 and 23.05.2025, stated to have been filed by the petitioners, within a period of one month from the date copy of this order is made available to them by passing a speaking order thereon.
