The instant contempt petition arises out of an order dated 6th December, 2023 passed by this Court in a writ petition preferred by the petitioners registered as WP(C) No. 1114/2020 along with connected matters, by virtue of which the writ petition along with connected matters was disposed of in the light of the directions given by the Division Bench of this Court in case titled “Mushtaq Ahmad Paul & Ors vs UT of J&K and Ors” decided on 16th November, 2022 by holding that same shall be applicable to the case of the petitioners herein, as well. 02. The record reveals that the instant contempt petition is pending before this Court since 6th December, 2024 when notice was issued to the respondents for filing of statement of facts/compliance report. 03. Mr. Ilyas Nazir Laway, learned Government Advocate submits that he has received the copy of contempt petition in terms of order dated 7th October, 2025 only on 27th October, 2025 and this is precise reason that till date the statement of facts/compliance report has not been filed by the respondents. 04. Mr. Ilyas Nazir Laway, learned Government Advocate assures this Court that necessary orders in conformity with the order/judgment passed by this Court on 6th December, 2023 shall be passed and accordingly, he seeks two weeks’ time to do the needful. 05. In the light of the assurance extended by Mr. Ilyas Nazir Laway, learned Government Advocate, no fruitful purpose would be achieved by keeping the instant contempt petition pending and accordingly, the same is disposed of by directing the respondents to pass final order within a period of two weeks, in tune with the order/judgment mentioned supra. 06. It is made clear that in case the needful is not done within a period of two weeks, the petitioners shall be at liberty to seek revival of the instant contempt petition and in that event, this Court shall be constrained to have recourse to coercive measures. 07. Contempt petition is accordinlgy disposed of. (Wasim Sadiq Nargal) Judge SRINAGAR: 28.10.2025 “HAMID”
