For the respondents : Ms. Leena Guleria, Deputy Advocate General. Jyotsna Rewal Dua, Judge With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, matter is heard at this stage. 2. Petitioners are serving in the respondent-Forest Department and have prayed for direction to the respondents to grant them work charge status from the date they completed eight years of service with all incidental benefits. 3. Learned counsel for the parties have jointly submitted that the issue involved in the writ petition and the relief prayed for by the petitioners is now covered by the decisions rendered by the Hon’ble Apex Court in the State of -2- Himachal Pradesh & Ors. Vs. Surajmani & Anr.1 and Jogi Ram Vs. State of H.P.2 The respondent-Department was also the appellant before the Hon’ble Supreme Court in some of the connected matters. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioners will be satisfied in case they be permitted to prefer representation(s) to Competent Authority within a period of three weeks and thereafter, the competent authority be directed to decide the said representation(s) within a time-bound schedule. Learned Additional Advocate General is not averse to this prayer. 4. Having regard to the afore-submissions, but without examining the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of by permitting the petitioners to file representation(s) to Competent Authority within a period of three weeks from today. In case such a representation(s) is received by Competent Authority within the aforesaid period, the same shall be considered and decided in accordance with law as well as taking into consideration the above judgments in cases of Surajmani1 and Jogi Ram2 within a period of six weeks from today. The decision so arrived at shall also be communicated to the petitioners. 1Civil Appeal No. 1595/2025, decided alongwith connected civil appeals on 06.02.2025. 2 CWP No. 7124/2021 dated 25.02.2025 -3- The writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also the pending miscellaneous application(s), if any.
