14.08.2025 Item No.14. gd/ssd WPA(P)/86/2022 PINTU DEBNATH VS STATE OF WEST BENGAL AND ORS. Mr. Jahar Lal De, Mr. Shamim-ul-Bari ..for State. 1. None for the petitioner. 2. Shri De, learned counsel for the State by placing reliance on the report filed by the Government way back on 22nd September, 2022 submits that on an enquiry it was found that the allegations of the petitioner are factually incorrect. 3. The private respondents are running power looms under a licence and there running of power looms cannot be said to be illegal and unauthorized. 4. The petitioner has not chosen to file any exception to the report. 5. The petitioner remained absent on 31.07.2025 and today. 6. It appears that the petitioner has lost interest in the matter. 7. In absence of any exception of the report filed by the State Government, we find no reason to disbelieve the report. 8. Thus, there is no point in keeping this PIL in the docket of this Court. 9. Accordingly, this PIL is dismissed. ( SUJOY PAUL, J. ) ( SMITA DAS DE, J. ) 2
