This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the writ petitioner is aggrieved by impugned order dated September 28, 2024 as corrected on October 4, 2024 passed by District Magistrate, Chandauli/Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue) Chandauli. 3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that by the impugned order, his application for grant of character certificate has been rejected on the basis that first information report is pending against him. 4. Upon a perusal of the said first information report, we are of the view that the first information report by itself should not be a hindrance in issuing the character certificate, as it relates to minor offences. 5. Accordingly, the District Magistrate, Chandauli is directed to revisit his order and pass a de novo order upon the same within a period of twelve weeks from date. The impugned orders dated September 28, 2024 as corrected on October 4, 2024 are quashed and set aside. 6. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
