For Petitioner(s): Mr.Kartik Soundararajan For Respondent(s): Mr.A.Gopinath Government Advocate Crl.side https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 25825 of 2025 ORDER The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B), 25 and 29(1) of Narcotic drugs & Psychotropic Substance Act 1985, in Crime No.347 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2. The case of the prosecution is that on 19.08.2025, at about 13.00 hours, based on a secret information, the respondent Police went to the place of occurrence and conducted search. While so, A1 was found in possession of 1.100 kgs of OG Ganja and A2 was found in possession of 900 grams of OG Ganja. Hence the case. 3. The learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and a false case has been foisted against him. He submitted that the petitioner is not named in the FIR and the petitioner is sought to be implicated based on the confession of the co-accused. He further submitted that he will abide by any condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 25825 of 2025 grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police reported that huge quantity of 2 kgs of Ganja is supplied by this petitioner and the offence committed by the petitioner is very serious in nature. Hence, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) and perused the materials available on record. 6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the investigation is at crucial stage and the contraband involved in this case is a huge quantity, this Court is not inclined to grant extra-ordinary remedy anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
