The present petition has been filed under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 read with Section 438 of Cr.P.C. for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.12 dated 25.08.2024, under Section 498-A of the IPC, registered at Police Station Women, District Bathinda, Punjab. 2. At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the present FIR is a result of a matrimonial dispute between the petitioner and complainant and the matter was referred to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court and the same has been settled between the parties. Learned counsel for the complainant, who has joined the proceedings through video conferencing, submitted that the matter has been compromised between the petitioner and complainant. 4. Learned State counsel submitted that since the matter pertains to a matrimonial dispute between the petitioner and complainant and the same has now been settled, the petitioner is not required for custodial interrogation. 5. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, the present petition is allowed and the order dated 14.11.2024, is hereby made absolute.
