Petitioner’s father was employed as Scaler in Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation, who passed away on 19.12.2022 while in service. Petitioner applied for compassionate appointment on 20.11.2023; however, no decision has been taken on his application, therefore he has approached this Court seeking direction to the competent authority to give appointment under Dying in Harness Rules, 1974. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that Regional Manager of the concerned region has recommended the case of the petitioner for compassionate appointment. 4. Mr. Rajesh Sharma, learned counsel appearing for Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation, however, submits that petitioner’s father was a daily wager and not a regular employee, therefore, petitioner does not have a statutory right of claiming compassionate 2025:UHC:7538 appointment. 5. Be that as it may, since petitioner’s application seeking appointment on compassionate ground is pending consideration before the competent authority, therefore, writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to take decision, one way or the other, on the application submitted by petitioner within six weeks from date of presentation of certified copy of this order. 6.
