Also heard Mr. R.K.D. Choudhury, learned DSGI appearing for the respondents. On 08-04-2025, this Court had passed the following order:- “Heard Mr. R. Bora, learned counsel for the writ petitioner. Perused the averments made in the writ petition. The petitioner had taken part in the selection process initiated by the respondents for conducting recruitment of Soldiers in different trades in Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army), 2024. According to the petitioner, he has fared well in the written test. However, since the authorities have not published the results and instead, have only telephonically intimated the successful candidates to come and join the service, he is not aware about his performance/score in the written test. Hence, this writ petition. Mr. R.K.D. Choudhury, learned DSGI, appearing for the respondents, prays for one week’s time to seek instruction and if possible, furnish the requisite information to the petitioner. Taking note of the submission of Mr. R.K.D. Choudhury, learned DSGI, this writ petition is directed to be listed again on 24/04/2025, as a fixed item. Page No.# 3/3 Two extra copies of the writ petition be furnished to the learned DSGI during the course of the day.” Today when the matter is called up, Mr. R.K.D. Choudhury, learned DSGI has produced a copy of the written instruction, obtained by him, according to which, results of the recruitment process in question was published in the newspaper viz. “Times of India”, (Kolkata and Guwahati edition) dated 07-03-2025. Since the petitioner was not successful, hence, his name was not included in the final merit list. Responding to the above, Mr. Bora submits that if that be so, his client does not have a cause to pursue this matter any further. Taking note of the above submission of the petitioner’s counsel and by retaining a copy of the written instruction dated 22-04-2025 submitted by Mr. R.K.D. Choudhury, this writ petition stands closed. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
