(2) Petitioner has taken an office space on rent and he is continuing as tenant in respect of the said office space since 2012. According to petitioner, electricity connection to the said office was disconnected on the pretext that some electricity poles have to be shifted on account of widening of road and once process of shifting of electricity poles is complete, the electricity connection shall be restored. Since the electricity connection to petitioner’s office was not restored, therefore, he has filed this writ petition seeking the following reliefs: “a) Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondents, particularly Respondent No. 3, to forthwith restore the electricity connection No. 376 A.I.F. 6104684 at the Petitioner’s premises at I- Set, Kundewhari Road, In front of Sahni Resort, Jaspur Khurd, Kashipur, District Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, within a time-bound period, say 7 days from the date of order. b) Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondents to decide the Petitioner’s representation dated 25.07.2025 expeditiously and 2025:UHC:7912 communicate the decision to the Petitioner.” (3) Ms. Abhilasha Tomar, learned Counsel appearing for Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd., on instructions, submits that the electricity connection to petitioner’s office shall be restored by 12.9.2025.
