Narendar) Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Deputy Advocate General for the State of Uttarakhand. 2) It is submitted that petitioner is a farm labour and usually employed as a tractor driver by the local farmers of the village on daily basis. It is stated that petitioner is having a plot of around 2500 sq. ft. outside the Village Mehwar Kalan, Police Station, Piran Kaliyar 1 2025:UHC:7822-DB Sharif, Teshil Roorkee, District Haridwar, and two rooms and three shops were constructed by his late father during his lifetime which has come to the share of the petitioner. It is alleged that the private respondents are having an evil eye on the property of the petitioner which is in the vicinity of Haridwar/Dehradun – Delhi Expressway. It is alleged that on the night on 26.07.2022, respondent Nos. 5 to 9 forcibly put double lock on the shops of the petitioner. It is further alleged that the private respondents are hand in gloves and are pressurizing the petitioner to handover the possession of the house and shops to them or else he will be implicated in the false criminal case. Petitioner submits that he is facing enormous pressure and he along-with his family members, seriously apprehend threat to their life and limb, at the hands of the private respondents, and hence he is before this Court praying for protection. 3) Learned Deputy Advocate General for the State submits that the respondent Nos. 1 to 3 have no hesitation in ensuring the safety and security of the petitioner and his family members, and he further assures the Court that no harm will come to the petitioner or any of his family members. 2 2025:UHC:7822-DB 4) In that view of the matter, the Station House Officer, Police Station Piran Kaliyar Sharif, District Haridwar is directed to assess the threat, if any, to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members and if it is reveal that there is a threat to the life and limb of the petitioner or his family members, provide necessary protection. The SHO is further directed to summon the private respondents, and such other persons, who are inimically placed towards the petitioner, and counsel them, in accordance with law. 5) The writ petition stands ordered accordingly. 6) As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, shall stand closed. ________________ G.
