This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the BNSS, has been filed by the petitioner herein, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.1 of 2025 of Pedabayalu Police Station, Alluri Sitharama Raju District, registered for the offences punishable under Section 111(2)(b) of the BNS and Sections 20(b)(ii)(C), 25 read with 8(c) of the NDPS, Act.
2. Brief facts of the case are that, on 10.01.2025, on receipt of credible information, the Sub-Inspector of police along with his staff and mediators rushed to Panneda Junction, and found the accused in possession of 398Kgs of Ganja. The contraband along with other material was seized under the cover of mediators report.
3. No representation on behalf of the petitioner.
4. Heard learned Assistant Public Prosecutor representing the respondent/State. Perused the material on record.

5. The petitioner herein was arrested on 10.01.2025 and since then he has been in judicial custody. The quantity of contraband involved in present crime is 398Kgs of Ganja, which is a commercial quantity. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that the case is still under investigation and some more witnesses are to be examined. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, petitioner do not deserve for grant of bail at this stage.
6. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.
As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous applications, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
