The post of Principal of the said college fell vacant on 1.4.2018 and petitioner was given charge of officiating Principal, which she is holding uptill now. In this writ petition, petitioner has challenged a communication, issued by Chief Education Officer, Nainital on 9.11.2020, which is on record as Annexure-10 to the writ petition. By the said communication, Manager of 24 different government aided intermediate colleges were directed to revert the officiating Principal, if they have served in that capacity for a period of more than six months, with a further direction to notify the vacancy of Principal for direct recruitment. (3) No counter affidavit has been filed in the matter till date. Petitioner is reportedly continuing as officiating Principal and she was not reverted in terms of the communication impugned in 2025:UHC:5077-DB this writ petition nor any process for direct recruitment on the post of Principal has been initiated so far. Thus no useful purpose would be served by keeping this writ petition pending as the effect of impugned communication is no more in existence. Thus the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
