2.
Heard the parties at length.
3.
Learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that it has nowhere been mentioned that in which police case, the police went to arrest the petitioner – Lilambar Mandal. It is stated that the petitioner and others thought that these police personnel who are in civil dress were kidnappers. He further submitted that the petitioner has been made an escape goat and the allegation levelled against him is general and omnibus.
4.
Learned A.P.P. for the State opposes the anticipatory bail application.
5.
The fact remains that this petitioner and others

assaulted the police while they were discharging their official duties i.e. trying to arrest a person against whom a criminal case was lodged.
6.
Considering the fact that there was an assault by the petitioner upon police personnel, this is not a fit case for grant of anticipatory bail.
7.
Accordingly, this Anticipatory Bail Application is dismissed.
