2025:UHC:7345 SL. No. Date Office Notes, reports, orders or proceedings or directions and Registrar’s order with Signatures COURT’S OR JUDGE’S ORDERS WPSS 1375/2025 Hon’ble Manoj Kumar Tiwari, J. Mr. Shailabh Pandey, Advocate, for the petitioner. Mr. Narayan Dutt, Standing Counsel, for the State. Mr. Rajendra Arya, Advocate, i/b Mr. Neeraj Garg, Advocate for the respondent no. 5. (2) Petitioner was appointed on contract as Junior Engineer in Zila Panchayat, Almora in the year 2020. The said appointment was for a term of 11 months, which was renewed from time to time and petitioner continued as such till 31.12.2024. Grievance of the petitioner is that other similarly situate persons with less experience are continued in service by renewing their contract, however petitioner has been subjected to hostile discrimination and his contract was not renewed after 31.12.2024. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs: “i. To issue a Writ, Order or direction in the nature of mandamus thereby directing the Respondent no. 1 & 2 to renew the contract of the Petitioner for the post of Junior Engineers (Civil) (through Outsourcing) in the light of the renewal of contract of candidates mentioned at Serial no. 9, 10, 13 and 14 of the impugned order dated 14.02.2025 (Annexure No. 1). Or else in lieu of Prayer no. i. ii. To issue a Writ, Order or direction in the nature of mandamus 2025:UHC:7345 thereby directing the respondent no. 2 to take suitable decisions on the representation dated 20.07.2025 made by the petitioner (Annexure NO. 5)” (3) Learned State Counsel fairly submits that since petitioner has made a representation to respondent no. 2, therefore, he may be directed to take decision thereupon. (4) Writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing respondent no. 2 to consider petitioner’s representation and take decision, as per law, within six weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
