Serial No. 04 Regular Cause List HIGH COURT OF JAMMU& KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR [Through Virtual Mode] WP (Crl) No. 193/2023 Tajamul Shafi Sheikh … Petitioner(s) Through: - None. V/s Union Territory of J&K and Anr. … Respondent(s) Through: - Mr Furqan Yaqoob Sofi, Government Advocate. CORAM: HON’BLE MR JUSTICE M. A. CHOWDHARY, JUDGE. (ORDER) 11.12.2025 The Petitioner, through the medium of this Petition, challenged his preventive detention ordered vide Order No.27/DMP/PSA/23 dated 12th of May, 2023 passed by the Respondent No.2-District Magistrate, Pulwama, so as to prevent him from acting in activities prejudicial to the ‘security of the State’. There is no representation on behalf of the Petitioner. Learned Counsel appearing for the Respondents submits that the impugned Order of detention has outlived its life for the reason that the Order was passed way back on 12th of May, 2023 and executed on 13th of May, 2023, whereupon, the Petitioner, after undergoing the maximum period of two years, has been released, as intimated to him by the concerned authorities. In view of above, the present Petition has turned infructuous, as such, the same shall stand disposed of, accordingly. (M. A. CHOWDHARY) JUDGE SRINAGAR December 11th, 2025 “TAHIR” Tahir Manzoor Bhat I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document
