Learned counsel for the respondents, at the outset submits that the matter in issue is squarely covered by the order and judgment dated 30.08.2025 rendered in WP(C) No. 416/2024 (Syed Tariq Ahmad and others vs. UT of J&K and others and other connected matters). Therefore, the impugned order and judgment dated 14.07.2016 rendered by the Single Judge in SWP No. 1129/2014 titled Amit Sanotra vs. State of J&K and others, be accordingly modified. 2. Learned Senior Counsel for the appellant does not dispute the position indicated above. 3. That being so, we are not required to delve any further into the merits. 4. Accordingly, as prayed by the learned counsel for the parties, the order and judgment dated 14.07.2016 in SWP No. 1129/2017 titled Amit Sanotra vs. State of J&K and others is modified in terms of decision Serial No. 9 2 LPASW No. 121/2016 rendered by the Coordinate Bench in case of Syed Tariq Ahmad (supra). 5. Consequently, the appeal stands disposed of. 6. At this stage, we are also informed by the learned counsel for the parties that many other appeals arising out of the impugned order and judgment as also the appeals involving identical issues are pending consideration. Such as LPASW No. 116/2016 and WP(C) No. 2971/2024. Copy of this order be served upon all the learned counsel appearing for the respective parties and they shall also be informed telephonically of the date fixed in the matters. 7. Accordingly, the Office is directed to list these matters and all other connected appeals, as indicated earlier, on 03.12.2025.
