HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD WRIT - A No. - 14807 of 2025 Court No. - 4 HON'BLE AJIT KUMAR, J. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record. Petitioner has approached this Court for disbursement of the post retirement benefits of the petitioner's father, who died on 14.10.1982. The only explanation has been offered for such delayed approach to the Court that petitioner has been repeatedly making representation before the authority concerned. It is settled law that if a person does not remain vigilant to his rights, his delayed approach in the court of law cannot be condoned. He, therefore, is liable to be visited with dismissal of his petition for such delay and laches. Very recently Supreme Court in the case of Surjeet Singh Sahni v. State of U.P. and others, (2022) 15 SCC 536 has held that mere making of representations to the higher authority and not approaching the court in time, will not alone condone the delay and laches. In view of the above, I decline to entertain this petition at this belated stage. Explanation offered by petitioner regarding delay and laches is not satisfactory. The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed. September 26, 2025 Virendra Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Vikalp Kumar Rai Counsel for Respondent(s) : A.S.G.I. (Ajit Kumar,J.)
