No.618 of 2025. 2.The allegation in this case is that on 12.05.2016, the accused protested against the Government without due permission. A case was registered in Cr.No.43 of 2016 on 12.05.2016 for the alleged offence under Sections 188 and 171(E) of I.P.C. Thus, it can be seen that the allegations concern exercising the democratic right to protest. Given the context and nature of allegations, continuing the trial impinges on the right to a speedy trial of the accused. No useful purpose will be served by continuing the case. 3.Accordingly, the case in S.T.C.No.510 of 2019 of Judicial Magistrate Court No.IV, Puducherry Taluk, Puducherry, stands quashed.
