...... PETITIONER VERSUS STATE OF PUNJAB AND ANOTHER
...... RESPONDENTS
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURYA PARTAP SINGH Present : Mr. Brijesh Nandan, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab. ***** SURYA PARTAP SINGH
. J.(Oral)
1. By virtue of this petition the quashing of order dated 18.07.2025 has been sought on the ground that the learned Appellate Court afforded only a very limited time i.e. 10 days for deposit of 20% of cheque amount.
2. It has been contended on behalf of petitioner that the petitioner is a housewife and that for the payment of compensation, she has to seek money from her son, who is working as a labourer in Dubai.
3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has requested that this petition be disposed of, by affording two months’ time, from today, to pay the above mentioned amount.

4. In view of the fact that the order is being challenged only for a limited purpose, i.e. for the time afforded for payment, and keeping in view the peculiar facts of the case which reflect that the petitioner is a housewife, the request for extension of time seems to be justified.
5. In view of above, the present petition is hereby disposed of and the order dated 18.07.2025 passed by learned Appellate Court is modified to the extent that the petitioner shall be at liberty to pay 20% amount of compensation by the end of October i.e. 31.10.2025.
