Heard Shri Vijay Tripathi, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State authorities. 2. The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the authority concerned to extend the area of firearm licence possessed by the petitioner from Uttar Pradesh to entire country. 3. It is contended by the petitioner that on his application the District Magistrate, Mirzapur has forwarded his recommendation to the Special Secretary to Govt. of U.P. to take a decision. Grievance is that till date no decision has been taken on the recommendation of the District Magistrate, dated 29.03.2025. 4. In view of the facts and circumstances of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.1 to take appropriate decision on the recommendation of the District Magistrate, dated 29.03.2025, regarding extension of the area of firearm in whole country, within a period of two months from the date of presentation of a certified copy of this order. 5. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on merits of the case and all issues are left open to be considered by the authority concerned, at the first instance.
