JUSTICE AHANTHEM BIMOL SINGH 17.07.2025 Heard Mr. N. Jotendro, learned Sr. counsel assisted by Md. Syed Murtaza Ahmed, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner; and Mrs. L. Monomala, learned GA appearing for the respondents. The relied claim by the petitioner in the present petition is for issuing a direction to the respondent for granting equal pay for the equal work for the period the petitioner rendered service as Extension Officer pursuant to the order dated 16.12.2006 issued by the Commissioner (Agri), Govt. of Manipur. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is substantively holding the post of Field Assistant/VEW in the Agriculture department and while he was serving as such, the secretariat, Agriculture department issued an order dated 16.12.2006 by which the petitioner was allowed to function as an Extension Officer (Agri) in the office of SDAO/Kamjong with immediate effect in his grade pay without any extra remuneration on look after basis in public interest. It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that by virtue of the said order the petitioner has been rendering service as Extension LUCY GURU MAYU M Digitally signed by LUCY GURUMAYUM Date: 2025.07.17 16:26:18 +05'30' 2 Officer (Agri) on look after basis for about 11 years till he was regularly promoted to the post of Extension Officer (Agri). According to the Ld. Sr. counsel, the petitioner is entitled to get the pay and allowances for the post of Extension Officer (Agri) as the petitioner rendered service for the said post for about 11 years on look after basis by virtue of the aforesaid order dated 16.12.2006 issued by the Commissioner (Agri), Govt. of Manipur. Mr. N. Jotendro, learned Sr. counsel further submitted that the present writ petition may be closed by giving liberty to the petitioner to approach the authority by filing a detail representation for granting the pay and allowances of the said post of Extension Officer (Agri) against which the petitioner rendered service for about 11 years. Mrs. L. Monomala, learned GA appearing for the respondent submitted that she has no objection in closing the writ petition as prayed for on behalf of the petitioner. In view of the submission made above, the present writ petition is hereby closed by giving liberty to the petitioner to approach the competent authority for payment of the pay and allowances for post of Extension Officer (Agri) against which the petitioner rendered service for about 11 years on look after basis by virtue of the order dated 16.12.2006.
