HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD WRIT - A No. - 14769 of 2025 Court No. - 4 HON'BLE AJIT KUMAR, J. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the records. By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has prayed for quashing of the order dated 05.08.2025 in which adverse entry has been given to the petitioner. Learned Standing Counsel has raised a preliminary objection as to the maintainability of the writ petition on the ground that petitioner has an alternative efficacious remedy of appeal before the competent authority under the relevant provisions of Uttar Pradesh Police Officers of the subordinate Ranks (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991. Learned counsel for the petitioner could not dispute the above legal position. In view of the above, while I decline to grant indulgence in the matter at this stage, I dispose of this petition with a direction that in the event petitioner prefers statutory departmental appeal before the appellate authority within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be considered and disposed of by means of a reasoned and speaking order within a further period of two months.
