(Oral) (1) At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he restricts his prayer to the issuance of directions to respondent No.2 - Commissioner, Faridabad Division, Faridabad to finally dispose of the petitioner’s application for grant of parole which has been dispatched by the jail authorities, District Jail, Nuh to respondent No.2 vide dispatch No.2451- 2454 dated 25.04.2025, as the same has been pending decision for the last about 05 months. (2) Learned State counsel has no objection to the acceptance of the afore alternate prayer made on behalf of the petitioner. Chandigarh CRWP No.10087 of 2025 [2] (3) After hearing learned counsel for the parties and going through the record, we find that the decision on the petitioner’s request for grant of parole has been unnecessarily delayed by the State which is also against the spirit behind Section 12 of the Haryana Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 2022. (4) In the light of the above, we dispose of the instant petition with a direction to respondent No.2 to take a final decision on the petitioner’s request made on 25.04.2025 for the grant of parole, within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in accordance with law.
