By this petition, petitioners are seeking a direction upon the respondents to assess and pay them compensation, as per their entitlement i.e. ¼ share in the land measuring 179 Kanals and 4 Marlas with regard to the Khewat No. 44/43, 59 old and 55 new, situated at Udhampur, sought to be acquired, pursuant to the Notice No. 03-JK (Rev) of 2025 dated 29.04.2025 and subsequent Notification Nos. KAS/5040/LH and KAS/5040/1/LH, issued by Respondent No. 3, in view of the judgment and decree dated 09.01.1984, passed by the learned Sub-Judge, Udhampur in case titled “Mast Ram Vs. Amar Chand & Ors.”. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners states that the petitioners have already filed representation before Respondent No. 2-Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, which was duly received by the said respondent on 27.11.2025 and is pending adjudication. He further states that the petitioners would feel satisfied, if the instant petition Sr. No. 185 2 WP (C) No. 3766/2025 is disposed of, by directing Respondent No. 2 to consider the said representation within a reasonable period of time. 3. Ms. Chetna Manhas, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, is not averse to the proposition made by learned counsel for the other side. 4. Be that as it may, the instant petition is disposed of, at its threshold, without issuing any formal notice to the respondents, by directing Respondent No. 2 to consider the representation filed by the petitioners and pass a speaking order thereon, in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks, from the date of passing of this order.
