(Oral) The petitioner claims that the direction may be given to the respondents to conduct the election of the Chairman of Zila Panchayat, Nainital in free, fair and transparent manner. 2. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner apprehends that the election of the Chairman of Zila Panchayat, Nainital may not be in free, fair and transparent manner. He has already given a representation to the Chief Election Commissioner of the State Election Commission, Uttarakhand on 06.08.2025 giving details as to how he has this apprehension. He requests that the election may be in free, fair and transparent manner. 4. Learned State Counsel submits that elections are to be conducted in free, fair and transparent manner. 2 5. Learned counsel for the State Election Commission also submits so. 6. There is no doubt that the elections are lifeline of democracy. Each vote matters. Elections are definitely to be conducted in free, fair and transparent manner. Statements have been given on behalf of the State as well as State Election Commission that elections shall be free, fair and in transparent manner. 7. In view of the statement given by the learned counsel for the State as well as learned counsel for the State Election Commission, no direction is required to be passed. 8.
