Respondent For Petitioner : Mr.S.Sugendran Additional Public Prosecutor ORDER This Suo Motu case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.)No.618 of 2025. 2.This case was registered in Cr.No.86 of 2017 for the alleged offences under Sections 294 (b), 353 and 506 (1) of I.P.C. r/w Section 4 (1) (j) of TN Prohibition Act. The incident was occurred on 26.06.2017. For the said allegation the matter has been pending from the year 2017. It is reported that there is no previous or subsequent case against the accused. 3.Considering the nature of allegations, the antecedents of the accused, any further continuation of the proceedings will impinge upon the his right to a speedy trial and no useful purpose would be served by keeping the matter pending. 4.Accordingly, the case in C.C.No.153 of 2017 of District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate Court, Thirukalukundram Taluk, Chengalpattu, stands quashed.
