Heard Sri Sandeep Mishra, learned counsel for the petitioner as well as Sri Sandeep Singh, learned brief holder appearing for the State respondents. By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus to command respondent nos. 2 to 4 to permit the petitioner to organize religious event/ commercial activities for the period running from 22.09.2025 to 02.10.2025 and for a further direction to respondent nos. 2 & 3 to restrict respondent no. 6 from carrying out any illegal cultural/ commercial event in the premises of the Society. Learned brief holder appearing for the State submits that the period for which the event was to be organized by the society is already over and relief no. 2 can be read only in relation to the relief no. 1 and since the time has already run out, this petition has rendered infructuous. Having heard learned counsel for the respective parties and having perused the records, we find that it is the petitioner who wanted to organize the cultural event and other commercial activities on the campus of the society for a period running from 22.09.2025 to 02.10.2025 and the second relief was only incidental to the first one as the petitioner wanted respondent no. 6 not to carry out any such activity individually. Since now the period for which the relief is claimed has already run out, the petition has rendered infructuous. No direction now can be issued to private respondent no. 6.
