By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has prayed for quashing of the order dated 02.09.2025, whereby, petitioner's passport has been impounded for a year. In the considered view petitioner has an alternative efficacious remedy of appeal under Section 11 of the Passports Act, 1967. In the circumstances, we do not grant indulgence in the matter at this stage. However, liberty rests with the petitioner to apply for appeal, if he so advised, before the competent authority prescribed under the Act. Subject to aforesaid liberty, petition is consigned to records.
