He would further submit that husband of the petitioner was arrested in connection with Crime No. 447/2008 for the offence punishable under Section 420 of the IPC. It was further submitted that the husband of the petitioner died on 18.01.2019 while in jail custody. He would also contend that the petitioner made a representation before the Collector, District Janjgir-Champa, seeking employment. Therefore, a direction may be issued to the Collector to take an appropriate decision on her representation. 3) On the other hand, learned counsel appearing for the respondents/State submitted that the husband of the petitioner was not a government servant and the petitioner has not cited any legal provision entitling her to employment; thus, the instant writ petition deserves to be dismissed. 4) I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents placed on file. 5) In the present case, the husband of the petitioner was arrested for the offence punishable under Section 420 of the IPC. He died on 18.01.2019 while in custody. The petitioner submitted a representation before the Collector seeking employment. However, no provision of law has been cited in support of such -3- claim, and the husband of the petitioner was not a government employee. In the absence of any specific legal provision in this regard, no direction can be issued to the Collector, Janjgir-Champa to pass any order. 6) Accordingly, this writ petition, being devoid of material facts and legal basis, is hereby dismissed.
