Petitioners’ mother was employed as basic health worker in health department, who passed away on 13.11.2023. According to the petitioners, certain monetary benefits, including revised pay scale was not paid to her although she was entitled to those benefits as per Government Policy. By means of this petition, petitioners have sought the following relief: “Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding and directing the respondents to pay arrears of revised pay scale of late mother of the petitioners for the period of 01-05-1995 to 30-06-2010 with inertest @ 9% per annum on delayed payment of revised pay scale w.e.f. 01-05- 1995 to 30-06-2010 forthwith as the respondents authorities have paid and released the said benefit of revised pay scale in respect to the similarly situated employee of the respondents department.” 3. Learned State Counsel was asked to get instructions. Today, on instructions, learned State Counsel submits that petitioners have not made any demand before the departmental authority before filing of this writ petition for a writ of mandamus. 4. Having regard to the facts and 2025:UHC:7732 circumstances of the case, writ petition is disposed of by permitting petitioners to make representation to the competent authority. If petitioners make representation within three weeks from today, the competent authority shall take decision thereupon, by passing a reasoned order, within three months thereafter.
