1. The petitioners have filed the present writ petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant the petitioners same benefits of revised higher pay scales, as allowed to the petitioners in CWP-25157-2019
disposed on 03.02.2025 (Annexure P-12) in terms of decision in CWP-25517-2012, decided on 06.10.2017 (Annexure P-9) upheld in LPA No.1423 of 2018, decided on 15.03.2023 (Annexure P-11) i.e grant of pay scale of Rs.14300-18150 w.e.f 01.01.1996 and the revised pay scale of Rs.37400- 67000+Rs.8600/- Grade Pay w.e.f 01.01.2006, irrespective of length of service of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have already submitted a legal notice dated 16.06.2025 (Annexure P-13) to the official respondents, but no action has been taken so far. They further submits that they shall be satisfied in case, appropriate directions are issued to the HITESH 2025.09.11 17:29 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh
CWP-27130-2025 -2 respondent No.2 to decide the legal notice dated 16.06.2025 (Annexure P-13) in a time bound manner.

4. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Surya Kumar, AAG, Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents and has no serious objection to the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, at this stage.
5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record carefully.

At this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the legal notice dated 16.06.2025 (Annexure P-13) submitted by the petitioners, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order by passing a speaking and well reasoned
order.
7. In case, the petitioners are found entitled to any consequential relief, the same shall be allowed to them forthwith, along with interest.
