This writ petition has been seeking to quash the proceedings of First Information Report dated 22.03.2025 registered as Case Crime No.0096 of 2025, under Section 115(2), 85 B.N.S. and Section 3/4 of the D.P. Act, Police Station Puramufti, District Prayagraj. The allegation of dowry demand and harassment against Siraj son of Raju brought by his wife. According to the FIR, a demand of Rs.6 Lakhs in dowry. The FIR version shows that without divorcing his wife, Siraj has married again. He has now deserted his wife after treating her with cruelty, married another woman and gone untraceable. The petitioners are father and mother, who would participate in inflicting cruelty upon the informant. Prima facie from a perusal of the impugned FIR, cognizable offences are made out against the petitioners as well. At this stage of proceedings, we required the learned counsel for the petitioners to implead the husband with an undertaking that he would appear before the Mediation Center so that we could explore the possibility of bringing about an amicable settlement between the parties with the good offices of the Mediation and Conciliation Center annexed to this Court. Learned counsel for the petitioners skirted our offer saying that the petitioners did not know where the informant's husband resides and did not know his whereabouts. And 2 Others .....Respondent(s) In these circumstances, we are not inclined to interfere with the impugned FIR. This petition fails and summarily dismissed . The Registrar (Compliance) is directed to communicate this order to the Station House Officer, Police Station Puramufti, District Prayagraj through the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Prayagraj within 24 hours.
