Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor appearing for the State. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners were arraigned as A.2 to A.5 in C.C. No.6553 of 2022 on the file of the IV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Vijayawada, for the alleged offence under Section 498-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 2005. 3. The learned counsel further submits that petitioners 1 and 2 are the in-laws, the 3rd petitioner is the sister-in-law of the 2nd respondent, -2- CRL.P. No.2527 OF 2025 and the 4th petitioner is the husband of the 3rd petitioner. Petitioners 1 and 2 were aged 75 and 70 years, respectively. 4. It is submitted that the marriage of A.1 with the 2nd respondent was solemnised on 27.02.2015. The petitioners never stayed with A.1 and the 2nd respondent at their marital home, and they have no role in the alleged commission of the offence. 5. Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioners, there shall be stay of appearance of the petitioners in C.C. No.6553 of 2022 on the file of the IV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Vijayawada, subject to filing an affidavit undertaking to appear as when required for the purpose of trial. 6. Accordingly, the criminal petition is disposed off. 7. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this criminal petition shall stand closed. ____________________ JUSTICE HARINATH.N BV
